Membership    Does REPA have a corporate or organizational membership level?    No. All REPA memberships are by individual. However the Consumer Guide listing of full members is categorized by organization. REPA members may designate an alternate in the same organization to attend a training. Within an organization, the maximum number of individuals allowed to attend a REPA training is limited to the organization's number of individual memberships in REPA.
Membership    What is the difference between an Associate REPA Member and a Full REPA Member?    Associate REPA membership is open to all individuals who are active in the New Hampshire building energy performance field. All new REPA members join as associate members. Once associate members are active in REPA for at least one year, they may submit an application for full membership. These applications are reviewed by the REPA board, and voted on by existing full members. (See separate FAQ on full member qualifications.) Only full REPA members have been vetted for their energy auditing qualifications, and only full members have detailed listings on the REPA web site.

Qualifications    What qualifications are necessary to become a full, voting REPA member?    Full REPA members should be well qualified to conduct energy audits. Generally this means certification as: (1) State of NH Weatherization Assistance Program Energy Auditor; or (2) Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst; or (3) Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Rater. This should be combined with sufficient practical experience to be proficient conducting energy assessments in a wide variety of homes.
Qualifications    Why get an energy audit from a full REPA member?    Full, voting REPA members are qualified to provide energy auditing services. An energy audit ("energy assessment") provides homeowners with valuable information about their home's energy performance. Energy audits provide: -Detailed information about the functioning of home energy components (insulation, air leakage, heating system, ventilation, domestic hot water, etc.). -Specific recommendations on energy saving improvements -Investigation of potential health and safety issues, such as interior moisture management and combustion safety problems. -Advice on solving problems such as ice dams, attic and basement moisture, and poor air quality. Full REPA members combine their experience with advanced diagnostic equipment to provide energy auditing services that will ultimately save homeowners money, improve building comfort and solve building energy problems. While full REPA members have been vetted for their qualifications, REPA is neither associated with nor responsible for the individual actions of its members.
